Toyota has unveiled a new version of its popular FT-1 concept, which reflects the new direction of the automotive company’s global design. Taking design cues from Toyota‘s sports coupe heritage dating back to the 2000GT, the second generation of the ‘FT-1′ was debuted at Pebble Beach’s 2014 Concours D’elegance. Built with an expressive body form to help with aerodynamic performance, the concept sportscar was developed by Calty Design Research and features new interior styling and exterior color. Painted in metallic graphite, the car’s interior draws inspiration from high-end designer handbags and features a rich leather interior with meticulously finished trim and stitching. Whether or not the FT-1 will go into production remains to be seen, but in the meantime, check out the images below:
