Designed by Wolveridge Architects, the Torquay House is a sea-side residence located in a coastal area in Victoria, Australia. The project attempts to challenge the notions of how buildings can exist in a coastal environment, while creating protective spaces, both internal and external which allow for the occupants to feel privacy. The result is a residence comprised of a series of interconnected finished containers with excellent views to the north and south. The private spaces created in between the containers allow natural ventilation and light, intimate outlooks, and a place to call home.
