ph-424009983-jpgmaxw615cci_ts20120425160100According to Automotive News reports, BMW CEO Harald Krueger confirmed in a recent press conference that the i8 Roadster version of its i8 plug-in hybrid sports coupe is slated for production in 2018. BMW first unveiled an i8 roadster concept back at the 2012 Beijing auto show, however, the production car has been delayed a number of times. As of now, limited details have been revealed but the i8 roadster is expected to get a longer-range battery and a more powerful electric motor.
