Is your wardrobe ready for the fall season? If not, now is the perfect time to do so because the temperatures are gradually dropping and before you know it, it will be time for snow boots and winter coats. Transitional time periods are always tough but there are a few necessary must haves to get you through the season. A few sweaters, a leather jacket, a pair of boots and some dark denim are a few staples to make sure your wardrobe is ready for the colder months ahead. - Reorganize Your Closet – Even if you have a small closet, key is to organize it in a systematic way so that you can see what you have as well as make it easy to choose an outfit on those days when you are in a rush. Organize by type of clothing and color for maximum efficiency. Also, transitional seasons are the perfect time to purge your closet.
- Wear Heavier Fabrics – Flannel, suede and wool are great fabric choices for the colder temperatures. Incorporate these fabrics in grey for business and dark brown or tan for less formal attire. Don’t be afraid to pair bold fabrics into your wardrobe to mix it up. There are a ton of great weaves that make excellent fall/winter fabrics
- Opt For Fall Colors – Color has slowly evolved in importance for menswear, becoming increasingly essential in a market that places heavy emphasis on elevated and updated basics. Colors like burgundy, olive green and tan are all great colors to add to your wardrobe. All can be paired with denim, black or brown making them staples.
- Mix Color, Textures & Patterns – Fall is a perfect time to get creative with your wardrobe. Stripes, plaids and patterned sweaters are a great way to add some flare and personal touch to your wardrobe. Don’t be afraid to pair a hooded sweater underneath your favorite leather jacket for a laid back chic look. (pictured above: Blazer- Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen)
