BALMAIN ANNOUNCES OLIVIER ROUSTEING AS NEW HEAD DESIGNER

According to reports, after the departure of Christophe Decarnin, French fashion house Balmain announced Olivier Rousteing as its new designer.  Currently serving as the head of Balmain’s womenswear studio since 2009, Rousteing, previously worked over five years at Roberto Cavalli as a designer. Born in France and raised in Bourdeaux, the 25-year-old is relative unknown outside of fashion circles. Rousteing studied fashion at the Parisian fashion school ESMOD. As of right now, Rousteing is said not to be giving any interviews prior to the debut of his Spring ‘12 collection in Paris later this year.
