Yesterday, President Obama visited visited a General Electric (GE) plant in Schenectady, New York, where he discussed the importance of innovation in America and selling goods and services abroad. In an effort to accelerate growth and create jobs, President Obama announced that GE Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt will head the new White House Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.
During the speech, President Obama said, “America is still home to the most creative and most innovative businesses in the world,  we must harness our spirit of innovation and creativity to compete in the global economy.”  You can check out the full version of  the speech here. What do you think?

    This was one of the best things to happen in Schenectady in such a along time! Being from where GE originated means more to me than I sometimes realize..for years it employed everyone’s family and was what attracted many to our small city/town. Glad to see Obama is looking at the smaller pieces of the bigger picture! I wish I was actually home to see it, but just knowing it happened is good enough for me!
