More than 75 stars gathered yesterday at Hollywood’s Henson Recording studio to record the 25th anniversary version of “We Are The World.” Like previous years, “We Are The World – 25 For Haiti” features a diverse lineup that includes: Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Jeff Bridges, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, the Jonas Brothers, LL Cool J, Akon, Justin Bieber, Drake, Kid Cudi, and more.
The video for “We Are the World – 25 For Haiti” will world premiere in 3D during NBC’s coverage of the Opening Ceremony of the Vancouver Winter Olympics on Friday, Feb. 12. Directed by Paul Haggis, an Academy Award-winning writer/director, an online version will feature a green screen allowing viewers to place themselves in the video. All proceeds from the recording and video will go directly to Haitian relief efforts through the We Are The World Foundation, a newly created not-for-profit organization comprised of board members Quincy Jones, Lionel Richie, Wyclef Jean, Paul Haggis, AEG Live president/CEO Randy Phillips. Be sure to watch the premiere. What do you think?

Glad to see this during times like these! I honestly wish it didn’t take tragedies for people to want to come together to better the world…If we all work together on a daily basis we could be a lot better off…

All of these efforts are GREAT, but we need to be aware of who we’re giving money to and where it’s going. It was released that less than a cent of every dollar donated right now is getting to the ground in Haiti!!! I hope that this foundation will allocate wisely. They shouldn’t have that much overhead. I think it’s a cool idea, because it’s also a tribute to the late, great, MIKE, who obbbvvviousssslyy would have been doing big things for Haiti had he been alive today.
It’s good to see so many in the entertainment community coming together for this desperate cause.
Again only someone like Q. Jones could make all these mega stars check their ego’s at the door.
George Clooney did the telethon, now “We Are the World” is resurrected.
This is awesome
