According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter- the forthcoming Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me, is scheduled to hit theaters on June 16th. The Benny Boom-directed film features Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Tupac along side Jamal Woolard playing the Notorious B.I.G.. All Eyez on Me is one of several Tupac-related projects that have been announced in recent years. The project originally began its long journey back in 2011, and has since faced several obstacles. After signing a new deal with Lionsgate, the film has finally been given an official release date. Check out the trailer below:
In related news, Tupac Shakur will become the first solo hip-hop artist to ever be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Tupac will be one of six inductees at this year’s 2017 class, alongside Pearl Jam, Journey, Joan Baez and Electric Light Orchestra. In terms of hip-hop artist, Shakur will join the likes of The Beastie Boys Furious, Five, Run DMC, Public Enemy, N.W.A., and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame.
