New York’s Sotheby’s auction house is set to sell John Lennon’s handwritten lyrics to the Beatle’s song ‘A Day in the Life’ this June. The double-sided paperJOHN LENNON’S| ‘A DAY IN THE LIFE THIS JUNE’ FOR SALE AT AUCTION with notes and words written in felt marker and blue ink (with some corrections made in red) is expected to make up to $700,000 on the auction block.
A Day in the Life is the last track on the Beatles’ Sgt Pepper album and was number 26 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. Sgt Pepper won four Grammy awards. According to Sotheby’s, A Day in the Life is “the revolutionary song that marked the Beatles’ transformation from pop icons to artists”. This may be the reason why they expect the document to sell for such a high price, but it’s unlikely that A Day in the Life will break the current record for the sale of Beatles lyrics. All You Need Is Love made a million dollars in 2005. What do you think?

so cool!
these things should be in museums so that everyone can see them. who pays that much?
I agree with Serendipity! The amount of money ppl spend on things always amaze me. I LOVE art, but would NEVER spend that kind of money on a piece of art..if it ever gets stolen or damaged there goes all that money lol

So….who is profiting from this sale. His widow and two sons are they getting the profit from the sale. I just think that the items mentioned are worth more than what most people ,or an average family will see in a life time….crazy!
