According to sources, the iconic London recording studio, Abbey Road, has been put on the market by EMI. The Financial Times reported that the sale of the studio could raise tens of millions, which should ease EMI’s debt burden. The property was origianlly purchased by EMI in 1929 and was converted into recording studios that were originally used by the London Symphony. Immortalized by the 1969 Beatles album of the same name, the studio has quite the history. The Beatles recorded the majority of their songs there, and Pink Floyd recorded “Dark Side Of The Moon” at the studios. Abbey Road, has also been used to record scores for Hollywood films such as the “Lord Of The Rings” and “Harry Potter”. It will be interesting to see what happens with the studio. What do you think?

Hopefully whoever purchases the studio will appreciate its historic value and keep it intact, either as a usable and running studio or a museum piece.
