According to reports, Netflix has acquired the rights to Martin Scorsese‘s highly anticipated gangster drama, The Irishman. The film was originally announced back in 2008, and cost somewhere between $100 and $150 million USD to make. The movie reunites Robert De Niro and Al Pacino on the big screen and details the life of Frank ‘The Irishman‘ Sheeran – a mob hitman who was involved with the disappearance of union leader Jimmy Hoffa. Netflix’s acquisition follows the film’s original deal with Paramount. The Irishman is currently on track to be released in 2019. Stay tuned for details.
