According to Bloomberg reports, Amazon is preparing to make a huge move into the brick-and-mortar world. The e-commerce giant is in the process of acquiring Landmark Theaters– the U.S.’ largest chain of movie theaters focused on indie and foreign films. Comprised of 56 cinemas, covering 268 screens in 27 markets, the Landmark Theaters deal would open up a lot of opportunities in terms of expanding its interests in film and physical commerce. Believed to be apart of Amazon’s long-term strategy, as of now, both companies aren’t publicly commenting on the reports. Stay tuned for updates!
