US ECONOMIC GROWTH SLOWS DOWN & FACES DEBT CRISIS

According to reports, the US economic growth has drastically slowed down in the second quarter. Furthermore, it is uncertain how the current US debt crisis will affect the overall economic recovery of the US. Congress has until August 2nd to increase the debt limit, if not the US government could face funding shortfalls. US markets opened lower today, with the Dow Jones, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq all falling 1% in early trade. President Obama is due to make a statement about the debt crisis shortly.
