Cool news! California officials just approved construction of a high-speed bullet train that links Los Angeles and San Francisco in two hours and 38 minutes. If completed, the train will be America’s first high-speed intrastate urban rail line. The project has been in development over the past 10 years, and was originally an idea created by the California high-speed rail authority. Fact: the total cost of the project is estimated around $68 billion. Construction will start late 2012/ early 2013, with the first track expected to be laid in Central Valley, California. Service is expected to begin in 2018. Be sure to let us know what you think!
