Google announced that it will be changing the design of its flagship Maps in the coming weeks. In effort to show relevant information in each mode of transportation available, gas stations will only be highlighted if you’re looking up transportation via car. Additionally, a new color scheme for points of interest will introduced: shopping locations will be in blue, entertainment and leisure spots will be highlighted in teal, and hospital/medical facilities will red/pink. Lastly, a bunch of new icons for various places will introduced. You can expect to see the new map changes roll out in the next few weeks on all of Google’s products that incorporate Maps. Be sure to keep an eye out!
