Originally opened in 1906 by John Jacob Astor IV, The Knickerbocker reopened in February 2015 as the only five-star hotel located at the edge of Times Square. The now 330-room hotel has witnessed and influenced more than a century of New York history. As the rumored birthplace of the original martini, the legendary Beaux Arts landmark pulses with the energy of contemporary New York. 2016 will mark the hotel’s second New Year’s Eve celebration in over 95 years after Prohibition caused the hotel to close in 1921. 15-015-05
