Google Maps is getting a major upgrade today in efforts to put the information you need most within easier reach in the app’s interface. With just a swipe up from the home screen, users will now be able to view the current traffic conditions, transit schedules, places to eat or drink, nearby ATMs, pharmacies, and more. The overall goal of Google was to provide ‘helpful everyday info’ in real-time, based on your current location. Most of the features offered in the new version of Google Maps already exist, but this instead simplifies the app’s navigation and layout. According to Google, the updated Google Maps is rolling out to Android starting today. As far as iOS availability, the update should be available in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
