YUGOSLAVIAN ABANDONED MONUMENTS CAPTURED BY JAN KEMPENAERS

April 28, 2011 The Unbiased Writer

Even though Yugoslavia has long since dissolved, abandoned monuments still stand recalling the nation’s power in the second world war. Traveling throughout the Balkans, photographer Jan Kempenaers has captured these abstract monuments which have lost much of their cultural relevance. The monuments represent an era of modern architecture that defined a time period in the socialist East. These abandoned architectural marvels will now become apart of  a coffee table book with the full collection of Kempenaers photographs. You can pick up your copy via Amazon for $42 USD.
