yoo-hyun-hand-cut-paper-designboom-02Korea-based artist Yoo Hyun recently finished a series of hand-cut paper portraits using an x-acto knife, household tweezers, and large sheets of paper as his artistic medium. Hyun forms a woven zig-zag pattern contained inside a solid frame that appears to be nothing more than unusual slices of paper at close range, and a hyper-realistic portrait when held from a distance. Together, the negative and positive space forms the image of several iconic figures which include Pablo Picasso, Marilyn Monroe, Frida Kahlo, and more.
