OS GEMEOS PAY TRIBUTE TO ‘GOLDEN ERA’ OF HIP-HOP IN NEW NYC MURAL

streetartnews_osgemeos_nyc-4Paying homage to the golden era of Hip-Hop, Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo aka Os Gemos have completed a massive mural on the Lower Eastside of Manhattan. Described by the artists as an ‘independent project’ dedicated to ‘everyone that has made and continues to keep the real Hiphop alive,’ their latest work of art follows up their recent ‘Midnight Moment’ series in Times Square.
streetartnews_osgemeos_progress-4The Brazilian twins started creating street art inspired by hip-hop culture in the 1980’s, and now exhibit their mix of sculpture, paintings, animation and graffiti around the globe. Their latest mural references many elements from the graffiti, rap and breakdancing of 1970′s New York.
