Keith Haring: 1978-1982‘ is the first large exhibition that explores the early career of one of America’s most celebrated artists of the twentieth-century, Keith Haring. The exhibition showcases Haring‘s career from when he left his Pennsylvania home to move to New York City to attend the School of Visual Arts. In addition, the exhibit traces the development of his political street art, in which he immersed himself into New York‘s downtown culture, and became friends with other artist including Jean-Michel Basquiat and Kenny Scharf. ‘Keith Haring: 1978-1982‘ will be on display at the Brooklyn Museum in New York from now until July 2nd, 2012.
