Fondation Louis Vuitton is set to open a massive exhibition showcasing artwork from Jean-Michel Basquiat this fall. The retrospective will be comprised of 120 works that chronicle the work of the iconic artist spanning from 1980 to 1988. ‘Setting aside everything extraneous, from biographical myths to considerations of market value, this exhibition will be an opportunity to see Basquiat clearly: as a great artist and a genius of draughtsmanship,’ said the museum. Highlights include Basquiat’s Heads painting (1981-82), collaborative pieces with Andy Warhol, and many other works. The retrospective will open to the public on October 3rd and is expected to run until January 14th, 2019.
