BANKSY ARTWORK FOR 2012 LONDON OLYMPICS

July 23, 2012 The Unbiased Writer

In honor of the 2012 London Olympics set to begin this Friday, artist Banksy has created two new works inspired by the games. Adding a political twist to his art, the javelin and pole vault present each athlete as both a long-range arms dealer and an eager prison escapee. It will be interesting to see if Banksy has any other Olympic inspired art in store for us…only time will tell. Check out the image below, and as always, let us know what you think!

“Radiation and rockets at the London Olympics you ask? Yes, more than 7,000 tons of radioactive debris pushed just to the side to build the Olympic stadium and anti-aircraft missIes anchored on the rooftops of private London residences. War games, military and private security forces patting down the throngs at a cost of £1 billion ($1.54 billion) just for “security” alone, this is the straw which has finally broken the camel’s back for my lifetime of Olympics watching.”
