Once again, New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute teams up with Vogue‘s Anna Wintour to curate a themed exhibition. Tonight’s annual Met Gala will celebrate the inauguration of the display which succeeds last year’s COMME des GARÇONS showcase. Featuring elaborate designs by the likes of Coco Chanel, Gianni Versace, Raf Simons, Riccardo Tisci, Valentino, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Thom Browne, Yves Saint Laurent and Rick Owens; this year’s theme is ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.’ The exhibition will open to the May 10th and will display between The Met Fifth Avenue in the Byzantine and medieval art galleries and Anna Wintour Costume Center as well as The Met Cloisters in northern Manhattan.
