Bangkok based practice Vaslab Architecture has added the latest hotel along the Khao Lak Coast of Southern Thailand. Challenged to create a bold architectural statement that compliments the surrounding beach environment, Vaslab created a series of 36 cubed villas made of a concrete outer shell and a warmer wood-lined interior. Built around the ocean, each villa contains windows along the water’s edge with green roofs that seem to expand off into the distant horizon. In addition, each villa features retractable glass panels and various terraces that allow for your temporary home to become a covered extension from which you can enjoy the outdoors.
